Ohio's Premier Boys Basketball Showcase
Welcome to the home of the Pizza Oven Classic, presented annually by Hoover High School in North Canton. The event, sponsored by Pizza Oven restaurants, takes place each year during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend. It's an opportunity to showcase great basketball action and, at the same time, honor the life and legacy of Dr. King. Thousands of fans have enjoyed exciting boys basketball action over the years, along with college coaches and scouts who attend to see some of the region's top high school talent. The 2008 classic marked the fifth consecutive year for the event. We thank all the teams, fans, volunteers and sponsors who made the 2008 Pizza Oven Classic such a success. See you in 2009!
2009 Schedule
The 2009 Pizza Oven Classic will take place over two days, Saturday, Jan. 17 and Sunday, Jan. 19. This is a switch from past years, as games this year will only be played over the weekend and not on the Monday of the Martin Luther King Day holiday. Here is the schedule for 2009:
SATURDAY, JANUARY 17
12:30 pm - Louisville vs. Copley
2:15 pm - Massillon Washington vs. Akron Firestone
4:00 pm - Canal Fulton Northwest vs. Youngstown Ursuline
6:45 pm - Canton Timken vs. Warren Harding
8:30 pm - North Canton Hoover vs. Farrell, PA
SUNDAY, JANUARY 18
12:30 pm - Marlington vs. Oak Hill, OH
2:15 pm - Massillon Perry vs. Olmsted Falls
4:00 pm - Dover vs. Akron Hoban
6:45 pm - Poland Seminary vs. Detroit Country Day
8:30 pm - St. Thomas Aquinas vs. Canton Central Catholic
Ticket Information
All tickets are general admission and will be available at the door. Please note: There will be no presale of tickets at the Hoover High School ticket office.
General Admission adult tickets are $8 per multi-game session. Student tickets are $4 per multi-game session.
Adult tickets for two sessions (on either Saturday or Sunday) are bundled for $12.
Adult tickets for all four sessions (the entire weekend) are bundled for $20.
